We all have stressors in our lives...
And over the years, I have helped many people overcome the many stressors in their lives.
But if you look at the overall trends happening in today's world...
We are finding that people's stressors have gotten out of control.
Completely...
And utterly.
That is why we have seen Burnout spread to over 80% of the workforce...
And we know that the trends are on track to continue to get worse...
Much worse.
What makes this worse is that Burnout has the potential to be a large contributing factor to many chronic diseases...
And in some situations...
It can cause death.
Literally.
That was the medically deemed cause of death for 26-year-old Anna Sebastian Perayil.
No matter how you look at this...
People are struggling to resolve their stressors...
Which causes them to build up...
And cause chaos in our lives.
But here's the thing...
When I help most people with resolving their stressors...
It becomes easy to see how people struggle so much.
Most people go wrong in the same way.
What is that way?
The problem is that they believe that the loudest stressors are the most important stressors to solve first.
What do I mean by this?
First, let me tell you about Stress Chains.
When we look at the stressors in our lives...
We will discover that most of them are "caused" by another stressor.
One stressor causes another stressor, which causes another stressor...
And this is what is known as a Stress Chain.
When we really look at all of our stressors...
We discover that there are usually only a few that end up being the root causes of all of the stressors that we are facing.
But...
Not all stressors "feel" difficult.
I can give you an example...
Which sounds worse...
Poor Diet, Obesity, or Diabetes?
Most people would say that Diabetes is the worst stressor on this list...
Followed by Obesity...
With a Poor Diet sounding like the least problematic aspect.
Within these three...
Diabetes is the loudest.
But...
There is good scientific evidence...
That all three of these Stressors are related in many, if not all, cases.
Poor Diet can lead to Obesity...
Which can then Obesity can lead to Diabetes.
Obviously, this is a very simplified version of a Stress Chain, and Diabetes and Obesity can have many more factors at play to consider...
But it really does not change how this usually plays out in reality.
Often, it is the stressor at the "end" of the Stress Chain that is the loudest...
And because it is the loudest...
It is the one that most people try to solve first.
That is why most people look at solutions like Medication or Surgery before considering a Diet Change.
But here is the problem...
When you only focus on the "end" of a Stress Chain...
Usually, the problems do not go away...
And often, more problems develop.
This is why when someone develops "one" Chronic Disease...
It is highly likely they will develop "more" Chronic Diseases.
Around the world...
Less than a quarter of people have "no" Chronic Diseases...
Over 75% have at least "one" Chronic Disease...
And over 50% have "multiple" Chronic Diseases.
Or in another way...
2 out of 3 people who develop a Chronic Disease will develop multiple Chronic Diseases.
Why?
They are focused on the stressors at the "end" of the Stress Chain...
While early parts of the Stress Chain continue to cause more problems in the body...
Because they were quiet.
Even worse than this, though...
Is that many people are unaware of some of the stressors that exist earlier in their stress chains.
Are the stressors coming from your diet?
Or from a memory capsule that has become a trauma capsule in your nervous system?
Or is there a hidden toxin in your environment that is completely silent, that continuously adds to your physiological toxin load?
Or has your gut microbiome been ravaged, making you unable to properly digest certain nutrients in your food?
Many of these stressors...
And more...
Are so quiet that people often do not realize they exist.
If a tree falls in a forest, but you are not there...
Does it make a sound?
Yes.
But sadly, you probably will not hear anything until the ecosystem is in near collapse and people are screaming about the horrifying consequences of the rainforest that has been cut down.
The same problem occurs inside of us.
If you are going to solve your stressors...
You must understand the Stress Chains that are in play...
Be wary of the loudest stressors...
And resolve the source of the chain.
