When To Start Something New - The Factors To Help You Determine

I'm in the process of starting a New Certification.

I have done quite a few over the years...

20+ According to LinkedIn!

I am Constantly starting New Things in my Life.

Yet, I know many Struggle with this...

Knowing When to Start Something New.

Following Through on them.

Getting to the End.

I Understand Why it can be such a Struggle.

New means Change.

Change is Hard.

We Seek Consistency.

Change is Not Consistent.

Yet, Change is Still Needed in Our Lives.

Change "Will" Happen.

Whether on our Terms or Otherwise.

So, how can we Determine "When" to Start Something New?

There are a few things to Consider.

Perhaps, most Importantly is Energy (Mg-ATP).

For something New to Work, we Need Energy (Mg-ATP).

It is quite simple.

Without Energy (Mg-ATP), you will be Unable to do Much of Anything.

Like a Car without Gas.

You won't get far.

So, start by Improving your Energy.

Build it Up.

Remove whatever Destroys your Energy.

The More Energy Available, the Easier it will be to do New Things.

What else must we Consider?

Do you "Want" Something New that's Positive?

If you Answer Yes to this, and you have the Energy, then Go!

Many people ask the Wrong Question...

Am I Ready for Something New?

Here's the Truth.

You'll Never be "Ready".

It can play out in a Couple Ways.

It might have to do with Self-Esteem.

We Rarely "Feel" Ready when Self-Esteem is Low.

It could also have to do with Confidence in the New Thing.

Here's the glitch there...

Confidence is Gained By Doing.

Through Experience.

No One Ever Has Confidence in the Beginning.

Do Not Use it as an Excuse Not to Start.

However, there is also a Subconscious Challenge Here.

Homeostasis.

Our Bodies desire Energy (Mg-ATP) Homeostasis.

Anything New can "Interrupt" that Homeostasis.

This is not a "Bad" thing, but it Creates "Worry" in our Bodies.

Due to this "Worry", Your Body will often, Subconsciously, give You "Reasons" Not to Start Today.

The Time Is Not Right.

Maybe After I Finish This.

Next Week/Month/Year will Work "Better".

But are "Any" of these True?

99% of the Time, No.

So, Do Not Rely on being "Ready", because you'll likely "Never" Feel Ready.

But do you "Want" Something New that's Positive?

Most People "Know" when their Life is Not how they want it to be.

You "Know" what You "Want".

You "Know" what You "Need".

So Get It!

Stop Denying Yourself for the Wrong Reasons.

You are Worthy of Your Goals.

Start those New Things that will be Positive in Your Life.

When else should we Start Something New?

When Circumstances Demand.

This is where I see Leaders often Fail.

They have a "Way" they have been Doing Business.

But it Stops Working.

They Keep Doing the Same Thing.

As their Teams Fail...

As Progress Goes Backwards...

As Finances Dwindle...

Why?

Circumstances have Changed, and they have Not Adapted.

No matter how "Smart" you are...

No matter how "Talented" you are...

No matter how much "Success" you've had before...

Eventually...

Circumstances Change.

If you Do Not do something New when the Circumstances Change, you'll begin to Fail.

It might be Fast.

It might be "Painfully" Slow.

But it will Continue to Break Apart.

So, when the Circumstances Change and what worked in the "Past" Fails to Continue to Work...

Do Something New.

There is One More Time you should Start Something New...

Every Day.

This is where you will Gain the Most Benefit.

I'm not saying that you should Change "Everything" Overnight.

The Change Does Not need to be "Dramatic".

But you should do Something New Daily.

Why?

Habit.

Part of the Reason people Struggle with Doing Anything New is that they "Rarely" Encounter Anything New.

People Fear what they Do Not See.

When you Never "See" Anything New, You'll Struggle to "Start" Anything New.

But if you See New Things "Every" Day?

It becomes a Friend.

An Ally.

Something to Look Forward To.

There is another Benefit here as well...

Energy (Mg-ATP).

If you Expose Yourself to New Things, Daily, your Body Gets Used to "Experiencing" New Things.

Your Body No Longer Becomes "Afraid" of the New.

When our Bodies are Afraid, Energy (Mg-ATP) becomes Wasted.

So by Exposing yourself to New Things, You Lose Fear and Stop Wasting Precious Energy.

As this eventually Becomes a Habit, Your Body "Expects" New.

Then, it "Seeks" New.

This is an Aspect of Flow States, where we Feel and Do our Best Work.

The Scientists call it "Novelty".

But it is that Newness that Engages us to Dive into Flow States.

It is a "Flow Trigger".

By Seeking New Things, Daily, you Set Your Body Up for Flow States Daily.

Which is where Magic takes place in our Lives.

So, When Should You Start Something New?

Today.

Based on the Energy (Mg-ATP) you Currently have Available.

Focused on the Positive Things You Want, and What has Changed.

What New Thing Will You Start Today?
