When people start looking for Success in their Life, they typically want to go Fast.
The General Rule People Follow?
Speed.
If I can Succeed in 5 Years instead of 10 Years, let's do that!
1 Year instead of 5 Years, let's do that!
1 Month instead of 1 Year, let's do that!
1 Day instead of 1 Month, let's do that!
If I can Succeed While I Sleep, I'll Do That All Day!
But if you Follow the Trends of those who Seek Speed, what do you normally find?
Failure.
A Lot.
Not Even "Relative" Success.
Most people Chasing Speedy Success simply Discover Failure after Failure.
Many of them also Chase "Faster" and "Larger" Success.
The Result?
Faster and Larger Failure.
Some Enough to Financially Cripple Them for the Rest of their Lives.
Yet, Speed "Is" Important in the Game of Success.
But this is the Key to Understand.
Speed Alone Does Not Make One Successful.
Even when you look at Technology, the "Fastest" Doesn't Always Succeed.
The First Smartphone was Not Designed by Apple - Yet Apple Dominates the Market.
The First Social Media was Not Facebook - Yet Facebook/Meta is the Company that has Succeeded the Highest.
So, even if Speed is Important, you must also Understand there is More to Success.
What else is Needed?
There are a Couple of Things.
Quality.
Speed without Quality is Junk.
No One Likes Junk.
Now, be wary because there is a Difference between "Quality" and "Best".
The "Best" also does not always Win.
We can look at Apple Again as an Example.
Their Technology is between 5 and 10 Years behind other competitors, yet Apple Still is the Largest Smartphone Supplier.
Even if Apple is not the "Best" on the Market (Not Even Close), they Still Make a Quality Product that keeps people coming back.
Quality is Important.
You also need to be Adaptable for Success.
Where does this tend to play out most?
Schedules.
Where many people Lose their Chances at Success is in the Day to Day, Moment to Moment.
This is what you'll usually hear...
"I couldn't get to it, too much came up..."
This is a Sign that you're Not Adapting for Your Success.
As an example, I have a Tendency to Write Articles Later in the Afternoon, up until the Evening.
Just in how I function as a person, that tends to work better.
But I have a Plane Trip Tonight.
I've got other things I also Need to take Care Of.
When I Land, I'll be with Family, and they tend to Stay Up Late and Talk for Hours.
I May Not Have "Time" to Write Later Today.
So I Adapted.
I am Writing Now, Early in the Morning.
I have Not even had my Coffee Yet.
Why?
To Ensure that I Get Done what is Most Important for my Success.
Writing Daily has contributed more to my Success than just about any other Activity I do.
That is Why when I Publish on November 30th, I will have written an Article "Every" Day for 700 Days Straight.
Was it Easy?
No.
But I Adapted whenever I Needed to in Order to Continue.
Adapting is Needed to Maintain Consistency.
Consistency is the Mother of Success.
Many People Fail because they Fail to Stay Consistent...
With Anything.
Lack of Consistency Creates Dis-Trust.
Why?
Consistency Creates Growth.
Mastery takes Consistency to Achieve.
People Trust Masters more than Novices.
If you can't "Show" Mastery, it is Difficult to Succeed.
Plus, Mastery itself is still only a Step.
The Highest Success requires Sageship.
Those who Attain Sageship Gain the Highest Levels of Trust because they have been "So" Consistent that they See Beyond what Masters can See.
The Most Minor of Details Matter in Sageship.
Those Details can only be seen when you stick with something Consistently Enough to "See" those Details.
Consistency Reveals the Truth.
But there is Another Aspect to Understand.
Speed Works Best when Paired with Strategy.
You can Sprint All Day, but if you're attempting to Sprint in the Ocean you're going to have a Difficult Time Getting Anywhere.
If you're in the Ocean, Swimming is a Better Strategy.
If you prefer Running, Better get to Land.
But you can Optimize Strategy Further.
You could Swim in the Ocean, or You Could Get a Boat.
You could Run on Land, or You Could Get a Car.
The Faster you move "With" a Great Strategy, the Faster You get to Your Destination.
Without a Strategy, most people Run in Circles, or Worse on a Hamster Wheel.
I see this Frequently with "Vanity Metrics".
How Many Followers Do I Have?
How Many Likes Do I Have?
Do these Really Create "Success"?
Rarely.
They are Vanity Metrics that Get No Results.
So your Strategy must "Achieve" Real Results.
The Final thing to add to this Equation?
Humanity.
For the Greatest Success, you must be For Humans.
First, and Last.
Your Products and Services are "For" Humans.
The Members of Your Team(s) "Are" Humans.
Your Suppliers "Are" Humans.
If you Fail to Understand this, You Will Lose Success in the Long Term.
If your Products and Services are Harmful to Humans, You Will Lose.
If your Business Practices are Harmful to Humans (Such as Burnout), You Will Lose.
Everything you do Must be For Humans.
First, and Last.
The Faster you can Prove that you are For Humans, the Faster You can Find Success.
People are "Desperate" for Leaders that are For Humans Today.
The Best and Most Talented are Seeking For Human Businesses.
They are Seeking Businesses that are Designing a Regenerative Legacy.
The Businesses who Design and Demonstrate This will Succeed at the Highest Levels.
At the End of the Day, Speed is Important for Success.
But, Speed Must be United with these other Aspects of Success.
Speed Alone is a Surefire Way to Failure.
But Speed Combined with All of These?
You Become Unstoppable.
