The New Typeshare - Learning The New Game

The New Typeshare - Learning The New Game

In Business, you'll discover that there are "Always" different kinds of Games happening.

Some of those Games You will want to Control through Category Design.

The Reason is that in Category Design the Category King/Queen, on average, will own 75% of that Market.

If you Do Not own the Market, then you'll be playing someone else's Game and you'll be competing for the remaining percentage with "Everyone" else who "wants a piece of the action".

However, at the same time, there will be other Games you have to play that you do not own.

For Many Businesses, this means Marketing Platforms.

This includes me because Writing is one of the ways that I market my Business.

Now, I have "No" desire to Create a Writing or Marketing Business, so I'm satisfied with Playing the Games of Platforms where I post my Writings.

However, when you willingly play someone else's Game, you "Must" be Prepared for it to Change at "Any" Moment.

Many "Creators" have Perished because they became too attached to a Game they did Not Control, and the Rules Changed to Benefit the Game Owner but "Not" the Creator.

So Today, on one of my Favorite Platforms that I Publish to, I was met with a Whirlwind of Change!

I have been publishing to Typeshare for over 600 Days Straight now, which has led to me becoming the #1 Creator under the "Streak" Category (If you want to Try out Typeshare, here is an Affiliate Link)

Honestly, I love the Platform as a Digital Writer because there are a lot of great tools I can use to help put my thoughts and ideas together.

Now, up until today, "Streak" was the "Only" Creator Category.

But with the Newest Update, quite literally, Everything looks different!

They have added a really cool Social Element to the platform that allows you to Follow Writers (Much Needed, and I'm Excited about that), as well as a Comment Feature and ways to Interact with Writer's Pieces.

It is a pretty Great Change in my opinion.

However, there is also a Massive Change in How Writers can be "Seen" on the Platform.

Now, whenever "Any" Game Changes, you have to Pay Attention to "How" the Game Changes.

Rules often Change, sometimes to your Benefit, and sometimes to your Detriment.

That is Part of Playing a Game someone else Controls.

When it comes to Typeshare, the Good News for me is that the Streak Category remains with the most recent update.

So, as long as I continue to Write and Post an Article Daily, I will maintain that #1 Position.

There is, however, a New Category of "Top Creators" which is based on "Signal".

There are a few things that contribute to Signal which are actually pretty Neat.

The platform Rewards "Both" when others Engage with Your Work "And" when You Engage with Others' Work!

In this way, it is Promoting being a "Part" of the Community which doesn't exist on many "Social" Platforms, but which I appreciate!

On many platforms, there is Not Much "Motivation" to Engage with Others, but Signal makes it a lot of fun!

With this, the New Rules are Not "All" Beneficial to me personally.

As I was watching how the Features Worked, I noticed that Typeshare and X have some Synchronicity.

Within that, you can Earn Signal when people Engage with an X Post that you make through Typeshare.

So, what does this mean?

If you have a Great Following on X, then it'll give you a Great Boost to your Signal!

That is going to be Fantastic if you have a Great following on X!

This is also why "I" will not Benefit from this "Specific" Aspect of the Signal System - My X Following is... Mediocre to put it kindly.

(PS - The Signal Update "is" a Work in Progress, so the Points "May" Change over time- I actually just spoke with Sam, the Founder of Typeshare and a Great Guy, about what I noticed and he made some minor Changes already. As I said, The Game "Will" Change)

My Strongest Platform is LinkedIn where I have over 9k Followers.

To be Honest, I'm also Not much of a "Fan" of X overall.

Due to that, I have "Not" put much Effort into the Platform - I Deemed it a "Game" that Did Not Benefit Me.

However, as a Digital Writer, I Must ask myself a Question.

If I believe that Typeshare "Is" a Game I want to Play, and being on X will "Directly" Impact my Efforts on Typeshare, then "Should" I play the Game on X as well?

Whenever Changes to the Rules Happen, these are the Types of Questions you "Will" have to ask yourself.

You can always "Ignore" the Rule Changes... But "Most" Creators who do this end up getting Forgotten by the Game as Changes Continue.

You can always Change "With" the Rules... But this May Mean Learning New Skills and Adapting which isn't always Easy, and sometimes "Very" Difficult as YouTube Creators have Discovered.

Or, you can put Efforts into Other Things... In Truth, sometimes it "May" be best for your Success to simply Play a Different Game.

For "Me", I Believe Typeshare is an Amazing Platform, and this New Signal Feature is Fascinating.

In my opinion, it is Worth staying in the Game for.

This makes the Answer simple for me - figure out how to Improve my X Following!

Since it Directly Impacts my Signal, and that "Is" a Game I want to Play because it Benefits my Business, then it's a Change I'll make.

This is how you have to look at All the Games you Do Not Control.

If a Platform Work "With" Your Strengths, and Benefits You, then Keep Playing the Game!

Adapt, Change, Become Better.

That is a "Part" of Life.

But Only do it if the Game "Helps" You.

Typeshare has helped me in many ways, and I find that the Platform has become Better with Each Update.

So, I'll Continue to Learn the New Rules and Play This Game!
