The Hustle Disease In Business - Why Non-Stop Action Is Counterproductive To Success

For a Business to Succeed you Need Results.

Simple.

Right?

Well, there is a lot more to the Story.

There has been this Mantra that people have blindly followed for some time now.

If you want to "Succeed", you have to Hustle.

Hustle Now.

Hustle Later.

You can Sleep After you've Succeeded.

When you Finish Hustling, Do It Again.

What is Fascinating is that there is another term that "Hustle" Replaced.

Workaholism.

It's really a Masterclass in Marketing, changing a Negative Term to "Sound" Positive to Attract People into a Detrimental Way of Living and Acting...

All while Putting Money in the Pockets of those who "Preach" this Message...

If you Look at the Tenants or Rules of Workaholism and Hustle...

There are No Differences.

The "Only" Difference is How People "Perceive" Them.

Often people see Hustle as something to be "Admired" where certain Individuals are Praised...

Despite their Incredibly Deceitful Tactics and Useless Content which is Detrimental in Reality and which has been called "Junk-Food Motivation".

Whereas Workaholism is compared to other negative things like "Alcoholism".

When we look at the "Reality" of Hustle/Workaholism, we also can Easily see Why these are Negative in Business.

It comes down to Human Psychophysiology.

What is the End Result of Hustle/Workaholism?

When you Work and Work and Work without Recovery?

Burnout.

But what Happens to Humans in Burnout?

We Drop to 5% of our Productivity Potential.

This means that, to accomplish as much as Someone in Peak Performance, you'd have to put in "Twenty Times" the Effort to Produce the Same Results.

So, the Results that someone in Burnout Could Achieve in 40 Hours...

Would only Require 2 Hours from Someone Attaining their Peak Performance.

Except people in Burnout Rarely only work 40 Hours...

But it also Does Not Matter.

In Burnout, you can "Never" Attain the same Results as someone in Peak Performance.

Let's say You are in Burnout...

Sleeping only 5 Hours per Night...

And doing "Nothing" Else but Work.

You'd be Working 19 Hours Per Day...

7 Days a Week...

"Attaining" 133 Hours of Work.

Something which Hustle/Workaholic Culture would Praise.

But You would "Still" be in Burnout, and only getting 5% of your Productivity Potential.

Someone in Peak Performance could get the "Same" Results...

In "Less" than 7 Hours.

A Peak Performer could work 1 Hour Per Day and get the Same Results.

However, it is Actually "Worse".

Why?

In Burnout, we Also Lose Access to Higher-Functioning.

This means that we Lose Access to...

Creativity.

Problem-Solving.

Innovation.

All which are "Needed" for Success.

Which is Why Hustle/Workaholic Culture is Counterproductive to Success.

More Hours "Does Not" Equate to More Results.

In Fact, it is "Very Easy" to get "Negative" Results with More Hours.

"Especially" when in Burnout.

What are Negative Results?

Think of it like this...

You have a Machine where you can Input 20 Dollars...

And in Return...

You get 1 Dollar.

That is Negative Results.

Which plays out in Business "All" the Time.

I have Worked in Companies where this was Happening.

Let me give you a Real Example...

I was working at One Company where a Sales Person was "Easily" Landing 6-Figure Deals with a Client.

Sounds Great...

Right?

Wrong.

The Client had Net 180 Terms in their Contracts, aka they Did "Not" Need to Pay "Any" of their Bill for 6 Months.

That May Not Seem that Bad Except this Sales Person would land "Another" Deal with the Client "Before" the End of these Net 180 Terms.

What did the Client work into their Next Contract?

They would "No Longer" Need to Pay for the "Remainder" of their Previous Bill.

What does this mean in Reality?

They Did Not Need to Pay "Any" of their Previous Bill.

They got "All" of their Services for "Free".

Despite them being a Multi-Billion Dollar Company.

The Work was Already Done, which means Our Employees had already been Paid.

Result?

Negative Results.

Work Done, Employees Paid, No Revenue Received from the Client.

What made it worse was this Client Did this "Multiple" Times before it was Discovered.

How does something like this happen?

Employees and Departments who are Disconnected, "Not" at their Peak-Performance, and Overworked.

This also was "Before" Burnout was Wide-Spread like it is Today.

If Negative Results like "That" happen "Without" Widespread Burnout...

How Much Worse Can Burnout "Make" These Results?

But it "Still" gets Worse.

Why?

Burnout Spreads.

Literally, via Neurocardiology, we can "Pull" Others into Burnout with Us.

So, it becomes Significantly Worse because when Multiple People in Burnout are in the Same Room...

It Becomes Exponentially Worse.

The "More" People in Burnout Together, the "Higher" the Exponentially Negative Results.

There is a Reason that Over 80% of the Workforce is Experiencing Burnout, and the Trends "Continue" to get Worse.

It is because Burnout Spreads, and Employers have "Both" been Making Burnout Worse "And" Forcing those Employees with Burnout into the Same Office.

Great Recipe for Absolute Disaster.

Which is Exactly what we are Seeing.

An Example?

How Incredibly "Simple" is it to "Make Sure" there are Enough Desks for Employees?

Especially when you Decide to "Require" them All to be in the Office?

Apparently it's Nearly Impossible because we have seen "Multiple" Organizations Fail to have Enough Desks for Employees after "Forcing" them to Return to Office.

But if you Understand Psychophysiology, this is Not a Surprising Result.

In Burnout, We, as Humans, become Incredibly Stupid.

What "Should" have been Extremely Simple to Account For was "Overlooked" because of Burnout.

We are Unable to Accurately Problem-Solve when in Burnout, which is Why this Detail was Missed.

But the Mistake was Made, and it made the Situation Exponentially "Worse".

If you want Success, then Hustle/Workaholism is "Not" the Answer.

Work Wisely.

We All Know that Work requires Work.

But the Key is to be Wise about How You Work.
