Sitting In Gratitude - The Path To One Of The Greatest Gifts in Life

Sitting In Gratitude - The Path To One Of The Greatest Gifts in Life

How often do you sit down...

Just to experience gratitude?

It seems to be a lost art in our world today...

With so many people focused on what is next...

On hustling...

Never stopping for anything.

But it is a horrible way to live.

Like a rat that is always being hunted and that never has a moment of rest.

Do you understand what that does to you?

To your body?

To your mind?

To your emotions?

To your spirit?

I've done a lot of research into the chaos this causes.

Panic.

Stress.

Anxiety.

Emotional exhaustion.

Loss of meaning.

Physiological breakdown.

The development of trauma capsules.

Burnout.

Psychosis.

Even death in some documented cases.

These are the costs of always moving and never stopping.

You lose joy...

Peace...

Flow states...

Purpose...

Love...

And so much more.

One of the easiest ways to overcome this, though...

Is to stop...

And sit in gratitude.

I have many things to be grateful for in my life.

My career...

The recognitions that I have received...

The impact I have created in people's lives...

The love that I receive from my family...

The peace and purpose that my Faith provides...

All of these and more...

I am grateful for.

But I know...

Sometimes life provides you with many low points...

I have been in the pits...

Without hope...

Consumed with fear...

Feeling lost...

The existential dread that consumes itself around you like a snake around its prey.

What helped me through it was gratitude...

During those days, I did not have what I do today...

But I took solace in what little I did have...

Breath in my lungs...

Food in my stomach, even if it was not much or healthy...

A place to rest, even if it was not the greatest of places...

The ability to continue...

Even if I was not certain there was anything for me.

When I was grateful for the little things...

I gained access to greater things in life.

But that only occurred...

Because I stopped...

I took time to sit in gratitude...

I saw what was working in my life...

And what was not working.

I was grateful for what little I had...

And I became grateful for what the pains revealed to me.

It was in the slowing down...

In the stopping...

That I became able to see more clearly...

Where I was able to take back control of my life...

How I found hope amidst the darkness...

When I was renewed in strength...

Shown purpose...

And I was transformed.

One of the greatest gifts that you can give yourself...

Especially in this season...

Is to stop...

Sit down in your life...

And find gratitude in it.
