Written by a human, for humans, always.
Today has been a strange day.
A number of changes have occurred in my life...
All positive things, thankfully...
But changes nevertheless.
This is the thing about all changes...
They force upon us new norms.
When you are forced to begin to understand and live with those norms...
It is not easy.
Things can go wrong...
Schedules become wonky...
Priorities have to be rediscovered...
The pace of certain things slows down or speeds up.
Everything begins to become jumbled in the face of all the changes.
And...
It can be tough to face all the new norms...
Especially after you have gotten used to the previous norms.
It can make you feel like you are behind...
Spending too much time in some places...
Not enough in other places...
Like you do not have a grasp of time...
Then...
On top of all of that...
You begin to wonder about the future.
Will I be able to do all of this?
What happens if I fall too far behind?
Did I take too much on at once?
What happens if I fail?
These questions and more can begin to add to the stressors of the change...
Making them feel exponentially worse than they really are.
Here's the key...
You need to give yourself grace in the face of new norms.
You need to realize that all of the challenges...
The setbacks...
The fears and doubts...
They are all perfectly normal to experience...
And...
As long as you continue to put one foot in front of the other...
And you learn along the way...
You will be able to figure it all out.
It will begin to come together.
The more pressure you put on yourself...
The worse you make it.
So give yourself grace when things change...
It will allow you to begin to understand how to face the new norms faster.
