Written by a human, for humans, always.
25 years ago were the 9/11 Terror Attacks.
Nearly 3,000 civilians were murdered.
At that time...
Many people seemed to come together...
United...
In the belief that murdering civilians is wrong.
It really seemed like that was common sense.
There is something that has concerned me, though...
That I've noticed more and more...
Are there some individuals and groups...
Are questioning that.
It is a moral shifting.
I hear more frequently...
That people believe, truly and deeply...
That murdering civilians within certain contexts may be acceptable.
That is a moral shifting...
That is both dangerous...
And has horrific consequences when actually allowed.
It reminds me of a quote from Captain America...
"Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right... When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world -- 'No, you move.'"
I will stand by the river of truth.
Murdering civilians...
In all contexts...
Is wrong.
Many different groups have bloodied their hands in this matter...
And their justifications...
All...
Are wrong.
Period.
Anyone who celebrates the murder of civilians...
Is morally compromised...
And if they celebrate the murder of civilians...
Any civilian...
Then they should feel both ashamed...
And come to a realization...
That their morals are a part of the problem in the world.
Their permissiveness of these types of actions...
Allows them to expand and become worse...
And I see it in many places in the world today...
Becoming worse.
The dangers and the horrors are spreading.
But it does not need to be this way.
"Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends than that good men should look on and do nothing."
We can turn the tide of this moral shifting...
By standing at the river of truth...
And saying no.
We will no longer allow this danger and horror to spread...
We refuse to allow civilians to be targeted, used as shields, and murdered.
Period.
I never thought it was something that I would have to say...
But the world changes...
Propaganda is spread...
People are manipulated...
And so I will say it as often as is required until our morals shift back toward the truth.
