Missing The Small Things In Health - Where I Found Myself This Week

I frequently talk about Energy (Mg-ATP) and how it Impacts not only Leadership but our Lives in General.

A large aspect of getting proper Energy (Mg-ATP) is doing the proper things in Health.

Many people try to go to Extremes when it comes to Health, but the vast majority of people (99.99% at least) do "Not" need those Extremes.

However, many people Still Do Not get the Basics, let alone the Middle of the Line things that are Very Impactful.

This is even True of Most Professional Athletes (who probably "could" Benefit from the Extremes "if" they had the Basics).

I even find myself forgetting things at times, and I Research and Discuss them frequently!

This is where I found myself recently.

I have had a few things change in my Life recently, all good things, and that has changed my routines a bit.

I also started to notice something that was a bit concerning.

I was "Really" tired frequently, over about a week.

When I would go for a Run, where I usually could do 3 miles most days, I was struggling to even do a Single Mile.

When I sat down to do work, my Brain was in a Fog frequently, and I struggled to get Coherent Ideas.

I was even eating more food overall, which in theory, should contribute to "More" Energy (Mg-ATP) being available.

I felt like I was doing everything correctly, yet the Truth was that I was feeling Exhausted.

Now, here's the Deal when it comes to Human Psychophysiology.

If you "Feel" Off, even when you're "Doing Everything Correctly", the Reality is you're probably Missing Something or Potentially Doing Something Incorrectly.

As Humans, our Bodies have the Incredible ability to Heal and Stay Very Healthy, even into Very Old Age.

How most People Live their Lives today is "Not" Normal, and we should Not Treat it as Such.

If you Struggle to go for a Jog, even in old age, something is off with your Psychophysiology.

Then, if you're feeling off in your 30's (like I was), something is "Really" Off.

So I was trying to Wrap my Mind around what I was missing.

I should Know these things, so what was I missing?!

Then, at the store, my spouse said something as a half-joke.

"Hey, do you want to get a Gatorade to help you with your Energy?"

If you dive into the health world, you'll begin to learn that Gatorade, and basically every "Sports Drink" on the market, is "Not" good for your Health.

Most of them are filled with ingredients that are Not Beneficial to you.

However, it got me thinking.

What is it that made Sports Drinks popular?

It was, "Supposedly", their ability to Refresh Electrolytes.

Our bodies have 4 Primary Electrolytes, and they work together in 2 Pairs.

You have Magnesium and Calcium.

(Magnesium is also the Mg in Mg-ATP)

Many people have Too Much Calcium and Not Enough Magnesium.

This can become problematic both because Magnesium is Necessary for Energy (Mg-ATP) and also because when Calcium is not paired with Magnesium it goes into places it shouldn't.

This creates Calcification which can cause all sorts of problems.

The other set of Electrolytes is Sodium and Potassium.

Many doctors tell people to Reduce Sodium when they have certain health issues, but what most people don't realize is that Sodium isn't "really" the issue, rather it is Unpaired Sodium, aka not having enough Potassium.

Sodium is actually "Incredibly" Important, and if we do Not have Sodium it can cause a "Lot" of Issues in the Body.

It was here that I realized what I had been missing.

See, you know how I said that I recently had some changes in my Life?

Well, one of the changes was that I haven't been at the desk I normally sit at, which is "also" where I keep my "Adrenal Cocktail".

This is a mixture of Sodium, Potassium, and Whole Food Vitamin C (which is Important for its Copper to make Ceruloplasmin, helping clean up Stress Damage, aka Oxidative Stress).

Because I had not been going to that desk regularly, I wasn't getting those Nutrients.

Now I had my answer about Why I was Feeling so Tired!

I had Not been getting some Incredibly Important Electrolytes, and I had been missing the Whole Food Vitamin C.

If we look at what was happening at the Psychophysiological Level, we can see how this becomes problematic.

When we Feel Stressors in our Lives, our bodies will Use Electrolytes to help us Overcome those Stressors.

If we are going to continue to Combat the Stressors, we must Refresh the Electrolytes.

Then, mixed with the Lack of Whole Food Vitamin C, I was likely building up Stress Damage and not Clearing it Out Effectively, leading to Lowered Energy (Mg-ATP) yield.

It could even Explain why my Legs weren't working with me for my Runs.

For me, my body Resorts to Sodium and Potassium first for Stressors, but without these the body will then Resort to Magnesium and Calcium.

When we have a lot of Stress Damage, our body will burn through Magnesium at an Increased Rate.

Less Magnesium means Unpaired Calcium.

Unpaired Calcium could have, therefore, built up in my legs, especially my shins, adding to the Struggle to get my legs to go further.

There you have it.

One simple Change in my Environment caused a Chain Effect of Challenges with my General Health.

The good news is that this is a "Very" Easy thing to fix, and I'm already on my way!

But this also shows "Just" how easy it is to miss the Simple Things in our Lives.

So often, we are "All" going so fast.

We make a small change in our life here.

Another small change in our life there.

All of a Sudden, our Lives are "Anything" but Healthy.

It should Not be that way, but for many people it is.

This is Why we "Must" pay attention to these things.
