For Those Who Always Struggle To Find Time - How I Get Things Done

It is a common thing to hear in today's world.

"I Could Not Find The Time."

I get it, there are a lot of things that compete for our Time and it can be very difficult to get to certain things we want to Accomplish.

I was recently reading the book Sapiens, and one of the things that is posited in the book is that as Technology advances, Humans become Dependent on it, and then we can't seem to live without that Technology.

If this is true, (which I'm sure some would argue against it) then there is some validity to the Idea that it is hard to find Time.

Our world has become so Technologically Advanced in the past 100 years and that cycle could be on Hyper Speed.

In some ways, Technology is almost "Demanding" more of our Time.

Yet, even despite this, some people Find the Time to Accomplish their Goals and Push Forward.

For me, that has meant Writing Every Day for over 580 Days Straight, and more recently I have been Running at Least 1 Mile Daily for over 60 Days Straight.

(PS - I ran a 6:18 Mile Last Night! Getting Close to Breaking Under 6 Minutes!)

I Accomplish these things Regardless of what I am doing.

It doesn't matter what the Weather is like outside - Rain, Snow, or Shine.

It doesn't matter if I feel Amazing, or if I have been in Bed Horribly Sick most of the Day.

It doesn't matter if I am at Home or even on a Trip, as I am today.

I still get it Done.

How do I Find the Time?

The answer is that I Do Not Find Time.

The Idea of Finding Time does Not really work in the Long Run.

Why?

Time Finds Us.

Every Second of Every Day.

You can Run, and you can Hide, but Time continually Finds Us and Moves Forward Regardless.

It is Impossible to Hide or Run from the Ticking of...

Second after Second...

Minute after Minute...

Hour after Hour...

Day after Day...

Month after Month...

Year after Year...

Decade after Decade...

Where are you Left?

For Most People, Time Defines them with Little to Nothing to Show for all of their Hard Work.

Trust Me - The Work We Get when Time Finds Us is Excruciatingly Difficult, and often it Breaks People Down.

So how do you Escape this Cycle of Time to Get Things Done?

Instead of "Finding" Time, You Must "Make" Time.

I can tell you for a Fact that it is Not "Easy" to Make Time to do the things that are Important to You.

However, If You Do Not Make Time for what is Important to You, then Time will Make Time for you to do things Unimportant to You.

How Do I Make Time for the Things I want to Accomplish?

I Make a Minimum Target for the Things that are Important (250 Words for Writing, 1 Mile for Running)

I Put Everything I Do Around these Items.

I Do Not Sleep Until the Minimum is Done.

I will Schedule Everything I Do to Ensure I Hit the Minimum.

If I must, I will Wake Up Early even though I Dread it more than Being Sick.

Whatever I "Must" Do to get the Minimums Done, I Do It.

Today, I woke up Early so that I could Write before I do the Events of my Trip.

Today, I will Run after I do the Events of my Trip.

No Excuses, Only Progress.

Will these be my "Best" Efforts?

I'll let you decide on the Writing, and Probably Not for the Running (Even though I ran my Fastest Mile Yesterday in the Past Decade).

It is Not about Hitting the "Best of All Time" Daily, it is Only About Small Progress Every Day.

Some Days are Amazing, just like my Running Happened to be Last Night.

Other Days are Horrible, like my Running Two Nights Ago where my Body Ached for 3 Miles and I was Slow for my Normal.

That is what Happens when you Make Time Daily - You will have Ups and Downs.

But the Ups get Higher, and so do the Downs.

In General, everything you are Doing Tracks Upwards, which is Why You Must Make Time.

When Time Finds You, Life will Generally Track Downward.

So, do Not allow Time to Define You.

Define Yourself and Make Time to Accomplish What You Want.
