When we Look at Today, what are Some of the Largest Problems we Face as a Society?
Some people would point to Overall Health.
We are Starting to See Human Lifespans Decrease.
A First in a Long Time.
Others may say something like Burnout.
Indeed, this is an Incredibly Large Issue Today.
This is where much of My Work has Focused over the Past Two Years.
In Burnout, our Productivity Potential is Capped at 5% based on the Research.
In some cases, Burnout has "Literally" Caused Death.
What about the Increasing Mental Health Epidemic?
Rates of Depression are Increasing.
Rates of Anxiety are Increasing.
When we Combine these Different Things, the Future can look Really Bleak.
If Technology and Science are Supposed to "Improve" Our Lives, then Why Are We Seeing These Worrisome Problems Arising?
Shouldn't We See the Reverse?
Well, there may be some Reasons Why we are Seeing these Trends.
Recently I've been doing some Research into the Nervous System and Autism.
With Autism, I have been interested because my Brother-in-Law has Non-Verbal Autism.
I've been trying to Understand the Factors Involved so that I can, hopefully, help him live a better life.
The Nervous System on the other hand is an Important Aspect of my 4 Brains Approach to Psychophysiology in Sageship.
As I've done More Research into Psychophysiology, I frequently find a Similar Answer to Why We, as Humans, so Often Fail.
Part of our Psychophysiology is Off.
Now, that is a Topic I could Deep Dive into at Any Moment, but it is Not the Focus of Today.
There is One Thing that I continually Discover as I Go Down this Path of Looking at Scientific Research.
Now, in Theory, if Science helps us Discover Better Answers, and Research Continues to Come Out...
Shouldn't We See Improvements?
In Theory, Yes.
But in Reality?
We Have Not.
This has to make us Ponder...
Why?
It is Possible to Unite Scientific Research to Come Up with Valuable Answers to Many of our Current Problems.
I am Watching and Learning from People Who "Do" This, and it is Something I have been doing with Clients and having Tremendous Success.
Yet this is Not the Norm.
Why?
As I have seen it, we can break it down into One Singular Word...
Pride.
The Inability (or Refusal) to Admit when We Are Wrong.
I see this Occur in Every Industry.
I have Watched this Happen in Leadership.
I have Watched this Happen in Scientific Research.
I have Watched this Happen in Sports.
I have Watched this Happen in Faith.
Over and Over Again, I See This Happen.
Someone makes a Call.
Sometimes the Call is Well-Intentioned (Though, some people would Debate that, Depending on the Industry we're Talking About...)
Things Do Not Go As Imagined or Predicted.
Sometimes Scientific Proof is brought forth to Show "Exactly" How Wrong they are.
Instead of True Consideration, they Attack.
Beat Down.
Silence Voices.
Until it No Longer Works.
Eventually, the Truth is Revealed.
Eventually, Voices Speak Up.
Eventually, it can No Longer be Denied.
The Problem though is that "Eventually" sometimes takes Decades.
In those Decades, Confusion Occurs.
Misinformation Spreads.
In the Meantime?
How many people get Hurt?
How many people Suffer?
How many people Die?
All Needlessly?
All because a Few Individuals had Too Much Pride to Admit they "Might" be Wrong.
As I look through Scientific Research myself, I am starting to Believe that We have the Pieces to the Puzzle of All of Today's Problems.
All of Them.
You may think that is a Bold Claim, and Maybe it is.
Yet, that is What I See.
Could I Be Wrong?
Of Course.
But as I find More Pieces, and Connect Them, the Evidence is becoming Overwhelming.
The Most Difficult Barrier I see to these Puzzle Pieces Being Connected?
Human Pride.
I Hope to See this Change in Our World.
Humans Deserve Better.
We Deserve Better.
