Beauty In The Simple - Lesson From Life's Secret

Beauty In The Simple - Lesson From Life's Secret

Today has been a very Different Pace than I'm Used To.

I have a Tendency to "Go Go Go".

I Love to Strive.

To Push.

To Endeavor.

To Overcome.

I find that, Frequently, we begin to Define our Potential at the Limits of our Skills.

Today, though, I am at my Grandmothers.

We are preparing for my Grandfather's Celebration of Life.

For which a Barrier Rose Up.

Literally.

About Two to Three Feet of Snowfall.

If the Snow Remained, People Would Not be able to Arrive.

So, we had to Do Something about the Snow.

A Bit of Physical Labor.

Shoveling.

Lifting.

Throwing.

Getting the Snow Out of the Way so we can Accommodate those who wish to Celebrate with Us.

It wasn't Difficult to Do.

A Bit of Sweat.

But it was a Slower Pace than I'm Used To.

Shovel.

Lift.

Carry.

Throw.

Repeat.

You Find a Flow, and Keep Going.

A Breath Here.

Talk with Family a Bit There.

Continue.

Until the Snow is Not a Problem.

Until a Path is Made.

Slow and Steady.

Bit by Bit.

There is a Peacefulness in the Simple Repetition.

I had another Encounter today as well.

My Family "Loves" Board Games.

We have a Huge Collection.

Games about Fighting and War.

Games about Building Towns and Railroads.

Games about Discovering Secrets.

Games about Stabbing Others in the Back.

We've got a Bunch.

However, I wasn't in the mood for most of those Games, and my Family was "Vehement" about me Playing.

There may be times when I'm "Not Fun".

If a Game Does Not Interest Me, or I'm Not in the Right Headspace...

Well I just Choose Not to Play.

Today they didn't give me a Choice.

So, I picked a few Ideas for Games that sounded Interesting.

We landed on one called Wingspan.

It's about Birds.

You Collect Bird Cards with Beautiful Images.

You Collect Resources to Get More Birds.

The Goal is to get "More Points" than Everyone Else, but the Flow of the Game is such that it does not "Feel" Competitive.

It was Really Nice.

Simple.

Peaceful.

I happened to win the game, though only barely.

Which brings us to Now.

I sit at my computer, with my Family going about different things.

Some Preparing for Dinner.

Others Relaxing.

A Fire Roaring in the Background.

Something Struck Me as I thought about What to Write.

There is a Profound Beauty in the Simple.

It is Something that is Seen in Every Aspect of Life.

If We Stop.

If We Pay Attention.

Even in Business.

So often Business Leaders and Entrepreneurs try to Complicate their Work.

How do we Add Features?

How do we Solve Every Problem?

How do we Attain Extreme Results Quickly?

How do we Push to Attain Higher Levels of Productivity?

Each Question Creates More Complications.

Each Move Forward Becomes Ten New Problems

Nothing is Accomplished.

Only Pain.

Only Suffering.

Only Struggle.

Yet, when we Stop, and Pay Attention, we Discover that it is the Simple that People Seek.

I recently Noticed this in my Writing.

I "Love" to Discuss Psychophysiology and the Complexities of Its Interplay within Leadership.

When I Write About it though, Fewer People Pay Attention.

It's Complicated.

Yet, when I write about something Simple.

Pressure.

Fear.

Hopelessness.

People have a Tendency to Line Up to Read.

People "Seek" Simple.

People "Love" Simple.

But Why?

Often, it is the Simple they Understand.

It is the Simple that takes Most of their Focus.

Does their Lack of Energy (Mg-ATP) and Lack of Nuerocardiological Coherence Deeply Impact their Success?

Of Course!

But they are More "Worried" about their Dis-Stress.

If they must Choose, they go to the Simple.

It is because we Recognize there is Beauty in the Simple.

Why did I Enjoy the Board Game so much?

It was Simple.

Why did I Enjoy Shoveling Snow?

It was Simple.

Why do I Enjoy Writing so Much?

I've Made it Simple.

In the Simple, we Find Beauty.

In the Beauty, we Find Appreciation.

In the Appreciation, we Find Happiness.

We See this in All of Life.

Life is "Extremely" Complicated.

Yet, Despite the Complexities, Life is also Very Simple.

Love Others.

Work Well.

Keep Going.

One Step at a Time.

Breathe.

Live.
