Many people Desire Success.
Any Form of It.
Yet, it Eludes so Many People.
They Chase After It Earnestly.
But over time, they Give Up and Give In.
Often, you will hear them Blame Many Things.
Lacking Talent.
Lacking Money.
Lacking Visibility.
Getting Struck by Unpredictable Situations.
Severe Situations that Arise and Prevent Their Success.
These Individuals always seem to have Something Missing that they Point To.
Yet, other people seem to Dance and Weave around these.
When the World Falls Down, They Seem to Rise Up.
Even when they are Missing the "Exact" Same Things.
Lacking Talent.
Lacking Money.
Lacking Visibility.
Getting Struck by Unpredictable Situations.
Severe Situations that Arise.
But None of these Appear to Stop Them.
Often it Does Not even Slow Them Down.
In Fact, these Individuals Usually Appear to Move Faster when they Arise.
How can this Happen?
What is the Difference?
What if I all Came Down to One Skill?
The Differentiator for these Two Types of Individuals?
Resourcefulness.
When I say this, I'm Not talking about having Connections that can Bail them Out Every Time they Make a Mistake.
Those can Help in the Short Term, but is Not Resourcefulness.
True Resourcefulness is the Ability to Make Do with Whatever You Have at Your Disposal.
For an Entrepreneur, it is about How to Successfully Market a Business with $0 in Advertising.
In Leadership, it is about Using the Team You have to Get Results, Knowing You Lack Ideal Skills on that Team.
When Unpredictable Situations Strike, it is about Figuring Out What You Are Able to Do with Whatever is Available.
When Severe Challenges are Forced Upon You, putting Together What Little is There to Still Cross the Finish Line.
True Resourcefulness Does Not Believe In Impossible.
If You Lack the Talent...
You Either Figure Out How to Live without that Talent or You Design a New Way to Accomplish the Goal with the Strengths You Have Available.
If You Lack the Money...
You Either Find Ways to Accomplish the Goal with No Money or You Find a New Way to Fund the Goal.
If You Lack the Visibility...
You Create Ways to Get Seen, become Unconventional, but Always Make Yourself Heard.
When you Get Struck by the Unpredictable...
You Alter Course, Find a New Path, or Create a Path that No One has Ever Imagined.
When Severe Situations Arise...
You Pull Up Your Boots and Get to Work, Using Anything Available to You.
Truly Resourceful People Find A Way.
Period.
It May Be An Ugly Process.
It May Be With Less Than Whatever Is Considered Ideal.
It May Be Extremely Painful.
But It Is Accomplished.
Do other Skills like Grit and Tenacity Help with this?
Absolutely.
But Grit and Tenacity without Resourcefulness is Simply Gritting Your Teeth as You Sink Into Quicksand.
Eventually, You Discover that Pushing Through just is Not Enough.
This is One of the Gigantic Problems that Leaders and Businesses are Facing, and Making Worse in Today's World.
They are Pushing their Teams into Desperate Situations, but the Teams are Not Resourceful.
Worse, they are Not Capable of "Attaining" that Resourcefulness.
Physically, these Teams are Unable.
What Leaders Fail to Understand is that you Cannot "Force" People to Be Resourceful.
It is Why Most Teams that are Reduced In Size and Resources, Running "Skeleton Crews", Remain as Just That...
Skeletons.
Dead.
Never Creating True Innovations.
Leaders have only Half of the Equation of a Psychophysiological Reality.
Can Extreme Challenges and a Lack of Resources Inspire Innovation?
Of Course.
We have Seen it Throughout History.
But for Most People, Extreme Challenges and Lacking Resources Leads to...
Quitting.
Burnout.
Anger.
Frustration.
Hopelessness.
Learned Helplessness.
This is Because Extreme Challenges and Low Resources "Only" Create Innovation when the Individuals Involved "Also" have Resourcefulness.
When you have Resourcefulness...
Challenges Become Eu-Stress.
Unpredictability Becomes Novelty.
Resources Become Malleable to Whatever is Required to Succeed.
But if You Fail to Understand What Goes Into Resourcesfulness...
You'll Never Get the Results.
A Large Missing Ingredient in Most People's Lives and Careers is True Resourcefulness.
Not Only the Skill, but the Desire.
However, with True Resourcefulness, the World Opens Itself Up To You.
Anything Can Become Possible.
